Marsh Marigold is one of the first pond plants to bloom in the spring. Does best in Planting Zones 3-7, not recommended for hot climates. The cheery, yellow flowers are quite pretty. It will wilt back where the summer is hot, but will begin growing again in the fall. Found naturally along slow moving streams and wooded wetlands. Caltha palustris is important ecologically, providing protection for many small aquatic creatures and assisting in water clarifying by absorbing nutrients and trapping silt.
