Common Cattail | Typha latifolia
This is the cattail you may see growing in marshes and along the banks of ponds or ditches. Common cattail gets an astonishing 10' to 12' feet tall and has very large catkins. Very easy to grow and can be divided in the spring. For best results plant in a large container to control the spread of rhizomes. Invasive in earth ponds so do not introduce outside a water garden or pond.
